I’m Libby Ebert and I’m an Associate Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with a specialization in sex therapy.
I am passionate about helping individuals and partnerships navigate conflict, deepen their emotional and sexual intimacy, and enhance their confidence. I believe everyone deserves affirmative care that is thoughtfully challenging and supportive of their mental, emotional, and sexual wellbeing.
Libby’s Approach to Relationship and Sex Therapy
As a white-passing Latinx and queer woman, Libby understands the many diverse and intersectional dimensions of culture that create one’s lived experience. These experiences influence her work as a systemic oriented, integrative therapist. Libby aims to create a safe, welcoming environment for each of her clients to feel affirmed, heard, and to become their authentic selves.
Libby holds a Master’s Degree in Couple & Family Therapy and a Sex Therapy certificate from Adler University. Libby believes each obstacle is unique to every individual and their journey, and everyone has inherent strengths and skills to help them navigate those obstacles. Libby works with her clients to rediscover those skills and apply them to the specific difficulties they are facing. By incorporating multicultural and systemic oriented frameworks, Libby works to ensure each client is supported, challenged, and empowered to be their best authentic self. Libby’s clinical interests include helping clients with trauma backgrounds, consensual non monogamy and polyamory, kink and BDSM, and gender exploration. Libby is particularly passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community and populations of color.
Prior to joining the Embrace Sexual Wellness team, Libby began her passion with gender, sex, and sexuality by completing a thesis to explore the multicultural aspects of the female orgasm. She continued her passion by working with a community-based nonprofit in Oakland, California to support women living with HIV by providing affirmative therapy, healthcare, and community support. She then worked at a Chicago-based nonprofit to create an educational plan to teach Chicago teens about healthy relationships. Libby Ebert joined the Embrace Sexual Wellness team in 2021 as the first clinical intern within the ESW Community Clinic. During her time as a clinical intern, she worked with individuals and partnerships experiencing life transitions, desire discrepancy, low libido, erectile dysfunction, anorgasmia, vaginismus, trauma, anxiety, loss of intimacy, and distress related to their sexuality and/or gender identity.
